FINAL SCORESHEET
DALLAS (SMU) – No. 9 SMU fell to No. 1 Auburn with a final score of 12-6 and claimed one Most Outstanding Player honor on Friday afternoon at the Dallas Equestrian Center.
The Mustangs (1-3, 0-0 ECAC) started the day earning two points in Flat while the Tigers (5-0, 1-0 SEC) earned three.
Vivian Yowan and
Haley Zimmerman earned scores of 82 and 79, respectively, in the 3-2 final that favored Auburn.
A final score of 4-1 in Horsemanship helped Auburn secure a 7-3 lead heading into the break. SMU's sole point came when
Lily Anderson defeated her opponent, 76.5-75.5.
The Mustangs scored two more points in Fences competition. The first came when Yowan defeated her Auburn opponent by seven points with a score of 79 to earn the MOP for the event.
Devin Seek scored an event-high 86 to secure SMU's second point for the event.
Reining offered a chance for three points after two ties between the Mustangs and Tigers. SMU took one of those points with
Savannah Ostner scoring a 72 to defeat her opponent by two points.
SMU is back in action in two weeks when the Mustangs take on No. 5 South Carolina on Friday, Nov. 22 starting at 10 a.m. CT at the Dallas Equestrian Center.
