MARTIN, Tennessee (SMU) - As the top seed in the conference tournament, No. 6 SMU will compete in the semi-finals against fourth-seed No. 10 UT Martin, on Friday at 10 a.m. 

    Live scoring can be located at https://bit.ly/2U0OwjV, while video streams of competition will be provided on Facebook Live for both the indoor and outdoor arenas.

    After the Skyhawks defeated South Dakota State, 9-7, Thursday at the Ned McWherter Agricultural Pavilion, they advanced to face the defending 2018 UEC Champions, the Mustangs, in the next round of action. 

    The Mustangs are in pursuit of championship glory yet again.

    SMU is 9-4 against UT Martin in all-time series history. The Red & Blue look to become the first victors of the league title twice, as six different schools have earned the championship since the UEC's creation in 2013.

HILLTOP HIGHLIGHTS
Devin Seek owns a near perfect 6-1-1 record over fences, while Vivian Yowan remains undefeated on the flat this season, putting together an impressive 10-0-1 record on the flat and tallying a 7-4 mark over fences. Nora Gray, too, has earned a significant number of Hunter Seat points for the Red & Blue this season, notching a 9-2 record over fences and going 4-5-2 on the flat in 2018-19, so far. She also earned recognition recently for becoming the winningest rider in program history, by virtue of her 75 career wins. 

Madison Steed and Holly Lansidel have eclipsed their opponents, 6-4, on the season in reining, as Mallory Vroegh maintains a strong 6-4 mark in Horsemanship. Haylee Schoonover (Horsemanship), Aubrey Alderman (Reining), Savannah Ostner (Reining) and Mary Elizabeth Cordia (Flat) have eached clinched five wins for the Mustangs in meets this season.

MOP MAGIC 
SMU riders have represented the team in Most Outstanding Player selections in every meet this season, with the Red & Blue receiving a total of 31 MOPs together (including exhibition meets). The Mustangs have had multiple MOP award winners in all but three meets. Mustangs earned four MOPs against conference opponents Fresno State, DSU and UC Davis, three over metroplex rival TCU, two facing South Carolina, Texas A&M, OSU, and at the TCU-spring meet, and one each in meets versus Georgia, Sweet Briar College and Auburn.

Holly Lansidel and Vivian Yowan have four MOPs apiece, while Ashley Mauney and Nora Gray have three and Kirsten Ostling, Haley Zimmerman and Devin Seek each have a pair of MOP honors.
Yowan is second in school history for All-Time MOPs with a total of 12 during her collegiate career.
