WACO, Texas (SMU) - SMU Equestrian defends their spot in the Farnam Team Rankings, checking in at No. 3 again this week, the NCEA announced Tuesday.

    After putting a rip in Auburn's armor, but ultimately falling 10-8 to the Tigers in Dallas, the Mustangs stay in the Top Three, as they face No. 8 TCU on March 9 to close out the remainder of their regular season slate.

    No. 3 SMU (7-3, 3-0 UEC) and No. 1 Auburn are the only two teams in the NCEA with an undefeated conference record. The UEC is the largest conference in the NCEA, and the Mustangs are currently the top team in the league.

    Including this week, the Ponies have spent a total of six weeks at No. 3, three weeks at No. 2 and have never dropped below the Top Five in the 2018-19 regular season standings.

    The Red & Blue will compete this Saturday at Turning Point Ranch in Springtown, Texas. They will take on DFW rival, No. 8 TCU at 10 a.m.
