DALLAS, Texas (SMU) - The No. 3 Mustangs travel to Turning Point Ranch to battle metroplex rival No. 8 TCU at 10 a.m. this Saturday (March 9). Live scoring for each event point will be updated through Twitter, @TCUWEquestrian.

This is the second time the two teams will compete against each other in 2018-19. The Mustangs (7-3, 3-0 UEC) confront a road test with the Horned Frogs (5-6, 1-3 Big 12), after winning against them at home earlier this season.

Prior to this weekend's metroplex matchup in Springtown, Texas, this fall, then-No. 2 SMU toppled then-No. 6 TCU, 11-6, in Dallas. Since the program's first competition with the Horned Frogs, which occurred during the 2006-07 season, the series history between the two DFW schools stands at 9-7, in favor of SMU. Saturday will be SMU's seventeenth meeting with their foe from Forth Worth.

The Mustangs have combined for a total 22 accolades on the season, including UEC Rider of the Week awards, as well as two UEC Rider of the Month awards, to go along with a Horse of the Month and Rider of the Month nod from the NCEA. Riders for the Red & Blue have also earned 29 Most Outstanding Player (MOP) honors on the season (including exhibition meets).

Vivian Yowan, with four Hunter Seat MOPs (12 total in her collegiate career), is second for All-Time MOPs in school history, and Holly Lansidel has also earned four MOP awards in Reining this year. Additionally, team captain Nora Gray sits atop the SMU leaderboard for All-Time Wins in program history, after eclipsing the previous mark of 70 (Gray has garnered 74 wins).

SMU Equestrian is led by the team's Reining & Equitation Over Fences squads, who have garnered five event wins each, so far.

Saturday marks the regular season spring finale for both teams, who will go on to compete at their respective conference tournaments at the end of March, then, the NCEA National Championships in April.
