QUARTERFINAL SCORE SHEETS: FENCES | FLAT | HSHIP | REINING

SEMIFINAL SCORE SHEETS: FENCES FLAT | REINING

WACO, Texas (SMU) - After advancing in all four events at Wednesday's NCEA Championship first round, SMU competed in the Quarterfinals on Friday, where the Mustangs moved onto Semis in Equitation on the Flat, Equitation Over Fences and Reining.
SMU defeated Texas A&M (Reining) 2-2 in the Quarterfinals to survive and advance to the Semifinal round.

Ultimately, the Mustangs were edged out 3-0 on the Flat by Auburn and 3-1 by Georgia Over Fences, respectively. But, the Reining squad kept SMU's championship dreams alive by going 2-2 to defeat the South Carolina Gamecocks in raw scores to punch their first ever ticket to the finals.

Horsemanship fell 2-2 in raw scores, in a close Quarterfinal contest with South Carolina.

In the Quarterfinals, team captain Nora Gray, Tali DeJong and Devin Seek earned their points over Fences, while Savannah Ostner and Holly Lansidel clinched wins in Reining. Ashley Mauney and Haylee Schoonover added to the Mustangs' scoring totals in Horsemanship, as Kirsten Ostling and Vivian Yowan contributed two points together on the Flat. For the Mustangs' in Semis, Gray, tallying her second point of the day, scored the lone point for SMU over Fences, as Kirsten Ostling stood her ground with a tie against Auburn on the Flat. Finally, in Reining, team captain Madison Steed and Holly Lansidel (with her second point of the day) emerged with the victory for SMU.

SMU competes inside the Extraco Events Center on Championship Saturday at 3:50 p.m., as they vie for the school's first equestrian national title in school history.
