DALLAS (SMU) –
SMU men's golf head coach Jason Enloe was named Golf Pride Grips Regional Coach of the Year, announced the Golf Coaches Association of America on Friday.

Enloe was one of four finalists for the Dave Williams Award, for head coach of the year. Enloe is the fifth coach on the Hilltop to be named regional coach of the year joining Barry Rodenhaver (1988), Hank Haney (1996), Ted Gleason (2001) and Jay Loar (2004).

Enloe led the unranked Mustangs to the quarterfinals at the NCAA Championship this season, making their first appearance in match play since 2014 and their first NCAA appearance since 2015. The team won four events during the 2018-19 campaign adding six top 10 finishes.

During his five seasons as head coach, Enloe has led the squad to seven tournament wins, including one conference championship and one NCAA Regional win as well as three team appearances at the NCAA. Under Enloe, the Mustangs have captured two individual conference champions, Mac Meissner and Bryson DeChambeau, who was also the NCAA individual champion in 2015. Meissner placed in the top 15 in this year's championship.
