BRYAN, Texas (SMU) - Will Sides sits in the top seven while Ben Steinmann occupies 48^th after one round of the NCAA Bryan Regional from Traditions Golf Club. The two Mustangs, Sides and Steinmann earned bids to the NCAA Regional. Over the three day tournament, they will be trying to earn the NCAA Championship bid by being the top individual not on an advancing team.
 
Will Sides sits in seventh, in a three way tie for the top individual of a non-advancing team with Jorge Martin Sampedro of UTRGV and Camden Braidech of Chattanooga.  Sides was even par after the first 11 holes before rattling off three birdies from holes 12 through 14. He finished the round with a 69. He lowered his season scoring average down to 69.55 still tops in a single season by a Mustang.
 
Ben Steinmann got off to a strong start with a one under score through four holes. He finished the day with a 75 after a tough break on 18. He holds a share of 48^th.
 
The duo will be back out for the middle round of the NCAA Regional looking to punch their ticket to the NCAA Championship.
