NORMAN, OKLA. (SMU) - SMU Men's Golf's Will Sides was named to the 2025-26 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars for NCAA Division I as announced by GCAA on Monday.
649 NCAA Division I athletes from 210 schools earned 2025-26 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors.
During his senior season, Sides had a 69.63 average score and competed for SMU in all rounds of competition. Within the Scoreboard rankings, he ranked 13th nationally and had three tournament wins.
The Oklahoma native was also named to other academic awards this past year including: 2026 ACC Rod Myers Scholar-Athlete of the Year, CSC Academic All-America Team, CSC Academic All-District Team and All-ACC Academic Team. He completed his studies with a 3.79 GPA, earning a degree in accounting.
To be eligible for this nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, or receiving their associate's degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they participate in at least 50% of team's competitive rounds, stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2.
