DALLAS (SMU) -- Redshirt sophomore
Sophie DiGesualdo shot a 1-under 71 in R3, tying her career low, to finish T8 in the season opening Trinity Forest Invitational on Tuesday. Her 13 birdies over the course of the tournament were the fifth most among all players, including seven birdies in the final round.Â
Finishing one shot off DiGesualdo was
Faith Summers. Playing as an individual, Summers shot a 4-over 220 to finish T11 for the tournament - sinking 11 birdies over two days.Â
Oklahoma State won the tournament, setting a tournament record by shooting a 2-over 866, six shots better than the previous tournament record holder. Texas Tech's Sofia Garcia won the individual championship after setting the course record for a women's amateur by shooting a round three 64. The Mustangs finished T8, shooting a 50-over 914.Â
