SMU hosts ECU on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Mustangs improved to 13-4 on the season and 10-1 at Moody Coliseum with a 68-52 win over Temple on Saturday.
 
In Saturday's win, Tyson Jolly had career-highs of 25 points and 14 rebounds. He had 22 points in the second half as SMU turned a 2-point halftime deficit into a 16-point win. Isiaha Mike also had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Kendric Davis had 10 points and nine assists while Feron Hunt added 10 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.
 
SMU enters the game leading the conference in field goal percentage (46.3%), free-throw percentage (77.2, 15th NCAA), assists (16.6, 14th NCAA) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.3, 30th NCAA). The Mustangs have four of the top 13 scorers in the AAC; Kendric Davis (16.0, 3rd), Isiaha Mike (15.2, 5th), Tyson Jolly (14.6, 8th) and Feron Hunt (13.3, 13th). Davis is also leading the league in assists (7.2, 8th NCAA) and assist-to-turnover ratio (2.6, 22nd NCAA). Mike and Davis share the league lead in free-throw percentage at 88.9%. SMU is second in the AAC in rebound margin (7.1) with three players in the top 10 (Hunt 7.6, 7th; Mike 7.2, 8th; Jolly 6.9, 9th). SMU is the only team in the league with three players in the top 10 for scoring and rebounding.
 
Tyson Jolly had career highs of 25 points and 14 rebounds. He also had team highs in blocks (2) and steals (2) with 2 assists. He is the first player to lead the Mustangs in points, rebounds, steals and blocks in the same game since Ben Moore against Tulane on 2/28/2016 (W, 74-53 | 16 points, 12 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 blocks - w/ 2 assists).
 
Tyson Jolly earned his second American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll spot after averaging 15.0 points, 11.0 rebounds 1.5 steals and 1.0 blocks. He had 25 points and 14 rebounds in the win versus Temple.

KENDRIC 20-20: Kendric Davis is 56-63 at the FT line this season (89.9%, T-1st AAC). He made 40 of his first 41, hitting 20 before his first miss, then 20 more before his second miss. He was 11-14 in the game against UCF on Jan. 8, setting the SMU record for attempts in an AAC game and tying the record for makes in an AAC contest.
 
SCORING 20-20: In the win over UCF on Jan.8, the Mustangs had two 20-point scorers as Kendric Davis had 22 and Feron Hunt had 20 (career high). That was the second straight game with a pair of 20-point performances. In the comeback 92-81 overtime win at Vanderbilt, Davis scored 24 and Tyson Jolly had 21. That marks the first time for two 20-point scorers in consecutive games since 2015-16 against Nicholls 12/16/15 (W, 86-42; Ben Moore 22, Shake Milton 20) and Hampton 12/17/15 (W, 105-72; Sterling Brown 23, Jordan Tolbert 20).
 
LAST GAME (W, 68-52 vs Temple on Jan. 18): DALLAS (AP) -- Tyson Jolly had a career-high 25 points plus a career-high 14 rebounds as SMU topped Temple 68-52 on Saturday night. Isiaha Mike had 12 points and 10 rebounds for SMU (13-4, 3-2 American Athletic Conference), which earned its fourth consecutive home victory. Kendric Davis added 10 points and nine assists. Feron Hunt had 10 points and eight rebounds. Temple totaled 25 second-half points, a season low for the team. Jake Forrester had 14 points and seven rebounds for the Owls (10-7, 2-4). Nate Pierre-Louis added 12 points and six rebounds. Quinton Rose had 10 points.
 
THE SERIES VS ECU (15-5): SMU holds a 15-5 series lead over East Carolina. SMU had won 10 straight
matchups, including eight straight regular season meetings before a 71-68 loss at ECU on Jan. 11. The past 11 meetings have been since the teams met in The American with two matchups in the AAC Tournament, in 2015 and 2017 when the Mustangs went on to win the championship. The foes were 4-4 while both were in Conference USA. The first meeting between the two teams was on Dec. 21, 1985 at the Kentucky Invitational (W, 71-62).
 
LAST MEETING VS ECU (L, 71-68 at ECU on Jan. 11) GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Tristen Newton hit a 3-pointer from the left corner in the closing seconds and East Carolina upset SMU 71-68. Tyson Jolly made two free throws to tie the game with 12 seconds left. Following a timeout, Tremont Robinson-White dribbled the length of the court and as he was challenged at the basket he found Newton for the game winner. Jolly's runner from just inside half court bounced off the front of the rim as time expired. Jayden Gardner scored 20 points for the Pirates. Newton added 12, Tyrie Jackson 11 and Tremont Robinson-White 10 points. The Pirates were in trouble after the first half, heading into halftime trailing 38-27. Gardner had 14 points in the second half and East Carolina made 7 of 17 3-pointers and shot 50%. Robinson-White scored with 1:50 to play to make it a 3-point game. He then came up with a steal and was fouled. He made the first free throw and missed the second but Gardner grabbed the rebound and made the putback to tie the game at the 1:19 mark. SMU missed a shot and made two free throws with 28.8 seconds to go for a 68-66 lead. Isiaha Mike had 21 points for the Mustangs. Kendric Davis added 13 points and six assists and Emmanuel Bandoumel had 11 points.
 
THE SERIES VS. MEMPHIS (10-14) (9-14+): Memphis has won the last two matchups after SMU had won six straight. The Mustangs swept Memphis en route to the 2016-17 AAC title, opening conference play with a 58-54 win at Memphis before rounding off the regular season with a 103-62 rout to claim the outright conference title on Senior Day. The Mustangs are 7-2+ against Memphis since both teams joined The American. (+9-114 overall, 6-2 in AAC; win in 2013-14 later vacated)
 
LAST MEETING VS MEMPHIS (L, 83-61 at Memphis on Jan. 19, 2019): MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Kareem Brewton scored 20 points with a career-high six 3-pointers, Raynere Thornton had 11 points and a career-best 14 rebounds for his first double-double this season and Memphis bests SMU 83-61 on Saturday. Brewton scored 15 points in the first half when Memphis (12-6, 4-1 American Athletic) took a 40-23 lead. The Tigers scored the game's first 13 points, including two Brewton 3-pointers, and led throughout. The lead reached 35 at 74-39 with 6:37 remaining after a 10-0 run capped by a Thornton dunk. Rebounding was a point of emphasis for the Tigers after being outrebounded by their three previous opponents who collected an average of 19 offensive boards. Against the Mustangs (11-7, 3-3), the Tigers had one more rebound, were even on the offensive glass (12) and had 12 more second-chance points while outscoring SMU 42-18 in the paint. They also made 10 steals and scored 24 points off 21 SMU turnovers in improving to 10-1 at home. Tyler Harris had four 3-pointers and 14 points, Kyvon Davenport 12 points, Mike Parks 11 and Jeremiah Martin a career-tying 11 assists with eight points. Jimmy Whitt Jr. scored 12 points and Isiaha Mike 10 for SMU.
 
UP NEXT: The Mustangs finish January with road games at Memphis on Saturday and at Cincinnati on Jan. 28. The next home game is on February 1 against Tulane.
 
CALL IT A COMEBACK: SMU rallied from 15 points down (72-57 at 6:28) to win 92-81 in overtime at Vanderbilt on January 4. That ties for the seventh largest comeback in program history and the ties for the largest under Head Coach Tim Jankovich (80-75 win vs Tulane 2/15/17). SMU closed regulation at Vanderbilt on a 20-5 run to tie the game at 77-all. The Mustangs then had a 15-4 advantage in overtime. SMU still trailed by 10 with less than five minutes left, getting the deficit to 8 points on two Emmanuel Bandoumel free throws with 4:04 remianing. That makes it one of 30 NCAA D-I comebacks from 10 or more in the final 5 minutes. The Mustangs still trailed by 6 in the final minute when Tyson Jolly hit a 3 with 28 seconds left to cut it to 77-74. Kendric Davis stole the inbounds pass and tried to score on a layup. Davis missed and then got the offensive rebounds, passing to Isiaha Mike outside the top of the key where Mike hit the tying three with 19 seconds remaining to get the game into overtime.
 
TROPHY CASE: Since the start of the 2013-14 season, the Mustangs have added seven items to the trophy case. SMU won the 2014-15 and 2016-17 American Athletic Conference regular season and tournament titles. SMU has also won 2019-20 Southwestern Showdown and the 2015-16 Las Vegas Classic. In 2013-14, SMU was the runner-up in the NIT.
 
HEAD COACH TIM JANKOVICH... is in his fourth  season at the helm at SMU after four seasons as the associate head coach. He is in his 37th season as a collegiate coach, and his 15th as a head coach. As a head 6oach, he is 241-163 (.597) [84-42 at SMU (.667), including 58-14 (.806) at Moody Coliseum (started 36-0, second best in NCAA history)]. That includes a 104-64 mark at ISU where his teams recorded four top-three finishes in the Missouri Valley, reached the conference tournament final three times and earned four NIT bids. As an assistant or head coach, his teams are 628-375 (.626) with six regular season conference championships, four league tournament titles, nine NCAA Tournament appearances and eight NIT bids. This is his 12th season as the leader of a Division I program, including five as head coach at Illinois State (2007-12) and four at North Texas (1993-97). The 2017-18 Mustangs started 13-6 with three wins over ranked opponents, topping No. 2 Arizona in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament, No. 14 USC at Moody Coliseum and No. 7 Wichita State on the road. In 2016-17, SMU finished 30-5 and No. 11 in the AP poll after winning The American regular season and tournament titles en route to the NCAA Tournament. In 2015-16, he coached the Mustangs to a 9-0 start as SMU was eventually the last unbeaten team in the country at 18-0, and winning the Las Vegas Classic title during the season-opening streak. The Mustangs went 25-5, finishing the season ranked No. 24 after reaching a high of No. 8. In 2014-15, the Mustangs claimed the AAC regular season and tournament championships en route to the NCAA Tournament. SMU was the top seed in the 2014 NIT, reaching the title game.

AMERICAN/SEC ALLIANCE: New for 2019-20, The American has entered into a scheduling alliance with the SEC that features four teams from each conference playing home-and-home series over the course of each of the next two seasons. The matchups in the American/SEC Alliance for 2019-20 are Georgia at Memphis (UGA won 65-62), Ole Miss at Wichita State (WSU won 74-54), Houston at South Carolina (UH won 76-56) and SMU at Vanderbilt (SMU won 92-81 in OT).
 
NON-CONFERENCE REGULAR SEASON UNDER JANKOVICH: SMU is 47-12 in regular-season non-conference games under Tim Jankovich. The Mustangs are 38-4 at Moody Coliseum in those games, 3-4 in neutral-site games and 6-4 in true road games.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE WINS (2014-15 through Jan. 19): SMU has the third-highest win total in league play (60-35) since the start of the 2014-15 season. The Mustangs have won the AAC regular season and tournament titles in 2014-15 and 2016-17. SMU went 17-1 in 2016-17 and 15-3 in 2014-15. ATTENDANCE: In 2018-19, SMU surpassed 100,000 in attendance for the sixth straight season. In 2014-15, SMU set a season attendance record of 124,986 total and 6,944 average.
