SMU returns to American Athletic Conference play by hosting UCF on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Mustangs improved to 11-2 on the season with a 92-81 overtime win at Vanderbilt on Saturday. SMU rallied from 15 points down to force the overtime before pulling away in the extra period.

Kendric Davis was named to The American Weekly Honor Roll. He is the fourth Mustang to earn a league weekly honor this season, joining
Isiaha Mike,
Feron Hunt and
Tyson Jolly. Davis averaged 18.0 points, 7.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals in the wins over USF and Vanderbilt. In the comeback win at Vanderbilt, he had 11 points in the second half and eight points in the overtime.

In the win at Vanderbilt, SMU rallied from down 72-57 in the final 6:06 to force overtime at 77-all. The Mustangs still trailed by six in the final minute before hitting two threes in a nine-second stretch to even the game.
Tyson Jolly hit a three with 28 seconds left,
Kendric Davis stole the inbounds pass and then tapped an offensive rebound to
Isiaha Mike beyond the top of the key. Mike hit the three-pointer with 19 seconds to go to send the game into overtime. The 15-point rally ties for the seventh biggest comeback in SMU history. The Mustangs still trailed by 10 in the final five minutes, getting it to eight on a pair of
Emmanuel Bandoumel free throws with 4:04 remaining. That marks just the 30th time an NCAA D-I team has rallied from a double-digit deficit in the final five minutes to win a game.

Tyson Jolly added 21 as SMU beat Vanderbilt 92-81 in overtime on Saturday night. Vanderbilt had a six-point lead with less than a minute to go in regulation when SMU (11-2) hit two 3-pointers in nine seconds to tie the game at 77. Jolly connected on one with 28 seconds to go then the Mustangs forced a turnover and
Isiaha Mike drilled a 3 with 19 seconds to send the game into overtime.
Ethan Chargois added 18 points and 11 rebounds, while
Feron Hunt scored 12 and pulled down 11 boards for SMU.
Emmanuel Bandoumel chipped in 10. Aaron Nesmith set a career high with eight 3-pointers, while Vanderbilt (8-5) hit 15 total 3s to tie a season high. Nesmith was 8 of 12 from behind the arc. Scottie Pippen Jr. contributed 15 points for the Commodores. With 10:14 to go in the game, Vanderbilt went on a 9-0 run to take its largest lead at 72-57. Nesmith hit his eighth 3-pointer of the game to end the run. Chargois scored 11 of the Mustangs' first 13 points as SMU got out to a 13-5 lead to start the game. SMU extended its lead to 20-8 on an

Jolly made a layup at 7:20 to put the Mustangs back up by 10, but Vanderbilt chipped away until Nesmith hit his fifth 3-pointer of the half with 15 seconds left to tie the game 40-all at the half. THE SERIES VS. UCF (+ 11-9, H 7-2, A 3-6): SMU did not fall in the first eight matchups as AAC opponents before UCF won the last three. SMU defeated the Knights 70-59 in their only American Athletic Conference Tournament matchup, a semifinal on March 11, 2017. Ethan Chargois had 11 points. (L, 95-48 at UCF on Feb 24): ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Tacko Fall had a season-high 23 points plus 20 rebounds as Central Florida routed SMU 95-48 on Sunday. Fall made 11 of 14 shots. BJ Taylor had 14 points for Central Florida (20-6, 10-4 American Athletic Conference). Terrell Allen added 11 points and eight assists. Aubrey Dawkins had 11 points for the home team. Central Florida had 58 total rebounds. Meanwhile, the Mustangs' 24.6 field-goal percentage represented the worst mark by a Central Florida opponent this season. Central Florida dominated the first half and led 41-18 at halftime. Both teams set season records for scoring during the game. The Knights' 54 points in the second half marked a season best for the hosts, while the 18 first-half points for the Mustangs were the lowest of the season for the road team.

TROPHY CASE: Since the start of the 2013-14 season, the Mustangs have added seven items to the trophy case. SMU won the 2014-15 and 2016-17 American Athletic Conference regular season and tournament titles. SMU has also won 2019-20 Southwestern Showdown and the 2015-16 Las Vegas Classic. In 2013-14, SMU was the runner-up in the NIT.

HEAD COACH TIM JANKOVICH... is in his fourth season at the helm at SMU after four seasons as the associate head coach. He is in his 37th season as a collegiate coach, and his 15th as a head coach. As a head coach, he is 239-161 (.598) [82-40 at SMU (.672), including 56-14 (.800) at Moody Coliseum (started 36-0, second best in NCAA history)]. That includes a 104-64 mark at ISU where his teams recorded four top-three finishes in the Missouri Valley, reached the conference tournament final three times and earned four NIT bids. As an assistant or head coach, his teams are 628-375 (.626) with six regular season conference championships, four league tournament titles, nine NCAA Tournament appearances and eight NIT bids. This is his 12th season as the leader of a Division I program, including five as head coach at Illinois State (2007-12) and four at North Texas (1993-97). The 2017-18 Mustangs started 13-6 with three wins over ranked opponents, topping No. 2 Arizona in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament, No. 14 USC at Moody Coliseum and No. 7 Wichita State on the road. In 2016-17, SMU finished 30-5 and No. 11 in the AP poll after winning The American regular season and tournament titles en route to the NCAA Tournament. In 2015-16, he coached the Mustangs to a 9-0 start as SMU was eventually the last unbeaten team in the country at 18-0, and winning the Las Vegas Classic title during the season-opening streak. AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE WINS (2014-15 through Jan. 1): SMU has the third-highest win total in league play (58-33) since the start of the 2014-15 season. The Mustangs have won the AAC regular season and tournament titles in 2014-15 and 2016-17. SMU went 17-1 in 2016-17 and 15-3 in 2014-15. SMU finished second at 13-5 in 2015-16, one game behind Temple.

INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE FOR THE MUSTANGS (Current Roster): In the past few seasons, several Mustangs have played in international events or gone on international tours.
