No. 6 SMU takes on No. 10 UT Martin and SUNY New Paltz in Martin, Tenn. on Thursday and Friday at Ned McWherter Agricultural Pavilion for this week's NCEA Meet of the Week. Thursday's meet versus UT Martin will be both a Jumping Seat and Western competition while Friday's matchup against SUNY New Paltz will be Jumping Seat only and will be intermixed with SUNY New Paltz competing against UT Martin. Both days will start at 10 a.m. CT.

LAST TIME OUT
SMU earned its second win of the spring season in a 12-7 final against Texas A&M. The Mustangs won Flat, Fences and Horsemanship and tied with the Aggies in Reining. The win for the fences squad was the second of the season and helped give SMU a five point lead heading into Reining. SMU earned two MOP honors in the win.
 
THIS WEEK'S LINEUP
The Flat lineup against UT Martin will consist of Mary Elizabeth Cordia, Madison Johnson, Olivia Woodson, Vivian Yowan and Haley Zimmerman. In Fences, Tali DeJong, Miranda Seade, Devin Seek, Olivia Woodson and Vivian Yowan will be competing. The Mustangs have only lost one Horsemanship matchup this season and return the same athletes to compete against the Aggies: Aubrey Alderman, Lily Anderson, Payton Neiberger, Mallory Vroegh and Megan Waldron. The Reining lineup of Aubrey Alderman, Holly Lansidel, Dani Latimer, Savannah Ostner and Jill Pfisthner wraps up SMU's side of the drawsheet.

Against SUNY New Paltz, Mary Elizabeth Cordia, Addison Piper, Miranda Seade, Devin Seek and Vivian Yowan will be competing in Flat. The Fences lineup will be Tali DeJong, Emma Jolly, Devin Seek, Olivia Woodson and Vivian Yowan.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
UT Martin brings a 2-5 record into this week's matchup and has won two ECAC meets this season. They opened the spring season dropping results in Fresno, Calif. to Fresno State and UC Davis. The Skyhawks have earned wins against South Dakota State and Delaware State.

SUNY New Paltz holds a 1-5 record, with their win coming at Lynchburg back during the fall season. The two matchups for the Hawks in Martin, Tenn. will be the first NCEA competitions of the spring.

SERIES HISTORY
SMU holds a 10-4 series lead over UT Martin and the two are tied at three wins each when in Martin. Last season, the Mustangs met the Skyhawks once at the UEC Championships, which were held in Martin. SMU won the contest 12-4.

This weekend marks the first time that SMU and SUNY New Paltz are competing against each other.

GOING BACK TO BACK
Last season, SMU made history as the first team to win the UEC league championship twice, earning the title in back-to-back seasons. The Mustangs finished last season 9-5 overall and were crowned National Championship Runners Up in Reining at the NCEA Tournament Event Finals.
