DALLAS (SMU) – No. 4 SMU defeated metroplex rival No. 7 TCU, 17-1, on Saturday at the Dallas Equestrian Center for Senior Day. The 16-point margin is the largest winning margin in program history.

The Mustangs (7-3, 2-0 ECAC) started strong, earning four points and tying one in Flat competition over the Horned Frogs (5-7, 2-4 Big 12).
Miranda Seade put SMU on the board first, scoring an event-high 91 points for the Most Outstanding Player honor. The score is the freshman's highest of the season and ties for SMU's highest Flat score this year.
Olivia Woodson scored her highest of the season as well with an 88 to defeat her opponent by two.
Vivian Yowan and
Mary Elizabeth Cordia both earned points for the Mustangs on their senior day with scores of 87 and 85, respectively, to put SMU up, 4-0.
Over in the Horsemanship ring, three Mustangs earned points to win the event, 3-1.
Aubrey Alderman scored the first point, winning 75.5-75.
Lily Anderson was next on the board for SMU with a 68.5 and
Mallory Vroegh followed with a 75.5 in an MOP-winning performance to give SMU a 7-1 lead heading into the break.
SMU went on to win all 10 points during the second half of the meet.
Devin Seek kicked off the Fences scoring with an 87 to defeat her opponent by 11 and earn her third MOP of the season. Woodson earned the next point, scoring an 85, and
Brett Burlington clinched the win for SMU with an 81 over TCU's 74.
Tali DeJong was next on the board with an 86 and Yowan got her second point of the day with an 83.
SMU closed the day out with another 5-0 sweep, this time in Reining. On her senior day,
Holly Lansidel earned a season-high score of 74 and was named MOP for the second week in a row.
Jill Pfisthner tied her season-high with a 73.5 to beat her opponent by one.
Taylor Zimmerman and
Dani Latimer added two more points to SMU's total with scores of 73 and 72.5, respectively. Alderman scored her second point of the day with a season-high 71.5.
The Mustangs close out the regular season on the road in California next week. On March 6, SMU will take on Fresno State at 1 p.m. CT in Fresno. On March 7, the team will compete in Davis against UC Davis and Jumping Seat only will face the University of Lynchburg. Times will be posted on SMUMustangs.com as they are known.
