2020-21 SMU Volleyball Schedule
DALLAS (SMU) – The 25th season of SMU volleyball is scheduled to begin January 22 when the Mustangs play at North Texas. SMU is slated to host 12 matches in Moody Coliseum, which are open to the public and will stream on ESPN+. The first home match is set to be played against Rice Jan. 29. Each week will feature two matches against the same opponent on either Thursday and Friday, or Friday and Saturday.
The Mustangs return five of seven starters, including three all-conference award winners, from the 2019 squad. American Athletic Conference Setter of the Year Lily Heim led SMU to an 18-10 record last season, including an 11-5 mark in conference matches to win the West Division title.
Along with the junior setter, SMU returns both starting attackers in juniors Hannah Jacobs on the left and Rachel Woulfe on the right side. Jacobs led the team in kills and earned second-team all-conference honors, while Woulfe was named to the first team after averaging three kills with nearly one block per set. Meryn Kennedy is the lone senior on the team. As a redshirt junior, the middle blocker averaged 1.09 blocks per set. One key loss is at the libero position. Three-year starter Montana Watts tallied 5.18 digs per set.
