GREENVILLE, N.C. – SMU swept ECU 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-15) to begin its first conference road trip. The Mustangs extended their win streak to four games after stifling the Pirates offense all match long holding ECU to a .092 hitting percentage. Meanwhile the Mustangs hit .307 along with 48 kills and 10 block assists.
Jadyn Bauss completed her third double-double on the season with 10 kills and 12 digs.
Rachel Woulfe notched a game-high 11 kills, while
Hannah Jacobs added 10 more.
SMU (7-6, 3-0 AAC) started off strong hitting on cylinders with a 12-6 lead. The Mustangs never looked back and expanded its lead to 21-10 before taking the opening set. The Pirates came back fired up in the second set jumping out to a 12-5 advantage. The Mustangs later countered with a 5-1 run to cut the ECU (5-7, 1-2 AAC) lead down to three. SMU finished the set on a 15-2 scoring run to make a statement and gathered a 2-0 match lead in Greenville as five different Mustangs gathered kills on that long rally.
SMU went up 14-8 in the third, but ECU was able to get within three points after two aces. SMU then scored six straight points to gather a big lead and eventually took the third conference win in as many tries to start AAC play.

Lily Heim dished out 39 assists, while
Bria' Merchant led the Mustangs defensively with 14 digs. SMU secured six aces in the match including four combined from Merchant and Makyala Miller.
Bri Wood led the Pirates with eight kills while Tia Shum led ECU in digs (15).
