SMU returns back to action this weekend when the Mustangs travel across the Metroplex to take on rival TCU. Action is slated to begin at 6 p.m. The Mustangs will then compete on Saturday at the Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center and Barr-McMillion Natatorium against Oklahoma Christian and UIW at 2 p.m.

Scouting The Horned Frogs
TCU has dual-meet wins over UIW and Texas Permian Basin and placed second at the FIU TYR Classic.

Scouting The Cardinals
UIW has squared off with TCU, Texas, Henderson State, and Ouachita Baptist this fall. The Cardinals beat Henderson State 124-81 on October 14.

Scouting The Eagles
Oklahoma Christian had a dual with Henderson State and Ouachita Baptist October 8-9. Freshman J.T. Amrein won two individual events (setting a school record in one of them) and was a part of two winning relay teams to lead Oklahoma Christian at the Sam Freas Invitational on September 25.

Last Time Out
The Mustangs were led by NCAA B Cuts from Colin Feehery and two NCAA Zone marks by Parker Hardigree at the SMU Classic on October 8-9. SMU faced Michigan, Missouri, Louisville, Texas A&M, and Arizona to begin the season.

Making The Cut
Feehery hit a NCAA B cut in the 400-yard IM finishing in a time of 3:49.76 and gathered fifth in the A-Final. Feehery also put together a NCAA B-cut in the 100-yard breaststroke touching the wall at the 53.73 mark. Feehery finished second in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:56.62 for a NCAA B-Cut mark, just .03 seconds behind the winner.

Hardigree started his senior year off in style. Hardigree finished first in the 3-meter diving competition and hit a NCAA Zone mark with a score of 360.25. Hardigree once again hit a NCAA Zone mark with a score of 310.30 in the 1-meter diving event, marking his second Zone mark in as many days. Hardigree later was named High-Point diver of the meet.

All-American Returners
Six members of the SMU men's swimming and diving program earned College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America honors for their work in the pool and in the classroom following the 2020-21 season.

To be selected as a member of the CSCAA Scholar All-America first team as an individual, swimmers and divers must have achieved a grade-point-average of 3.50 or higher and have participated in their respective NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. Honorable mention selections have similarly achieved a GPA of 3.50 and achieved a "B" time standard or competed at their respective qualifying meets.

Holt Hickman Outdoor Pool Is Coming To The Hilltop
With a $2.5M gift from the Hickman family, SMU will soon break ground for a new eight-lane, 50-meter by 25-yard outdoor pool, with 1- and 3-meter diving boards. The $11M project will also include a 20-foot by 40-foot instructional pool that will be used for lessons and rehab/therapy. The addition of the outdoor pool will complete the Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center, making SMU the only University in the country with both indoor and outdoor Olympic pools in one facility, further cementing SMU's swimming and diving facility as one of the finest in college athletics.

American Championships Return to Dallas
For the second consecutive year, SMU will host the American Athletic Conference Swimming & Diving Championships. The event is set to take place Feb. 16-19, 2022 at the Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center and Barr-McMillion Natatorium.

Up Next
The Mustangs host the SMU Invite November 18-20 at the Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center and Barr-McMillion Natatorium. The Mustangs will take on Drury and Hawaii in its home meet.
