CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (SMU) - SMU rowing concluded the fall 2021 season at the Rivanna Romp, taking five top-10 finishes across the varsity eight and varsity four races. Hosted by the University of Virginia, the Mustangs took on crews from the Cavaliers, Duke, Navy, Clemson, Louisville and North Carolina.
 
SMU's varsity eight "A" entry finished the 4,000-meter Rivanna course with a time of 13:51.9. The varsity eight "B" finished 10th, clocking 14:07.3.
 
Following the eights race and splitting into four varsity fours, the Mustangs secured three top-10 finishes out of 27 entries. SMU "B" and "A" finished fifth (15:32.4) and sixth (15:33.2) respectively while the "D" entry took ninth with a time of 15:44.3. SMU "C" finished with a time of 15:59.9 for 11th place.
 
The Rivanna Romp concluded the fall 2021 campaign for the Mustangs, who will return to action for the championship season in spring 2022.
