DENTON, Texas (SMU) – The SMU women's basketball game was playing its fourth game in nine days Friday when it took on North Texas in the Super Pit Friday night. The contest against a second straight top 25 offense saw SMU come up on the short end of an 84-58 loss.

The game was largely decided at the free throw line, with North Texas (5-2) making 21-of-24 on 24 fouls called on the Mustangs, while SMU (3-5) made just 6-of-13 attempts with 11 fouls against the Mean Green. North Texas also created an advantage outside the arc, making nine 3-pointers on 15 long-range shots while SMU was unable to make a 3 on eight attempts.

Savannah Wilkinson scored a team-high 20 points, eclipsing 20 in back-to-back games and the third time this season. Kayla White added 16 points, scoring in double digits for the fourth time this year. Jasmine Smith had four of SMU's six blocks in the game.

The Mustangs return home to play three of the next four games in Moody Coliseum, starting Tuesday against Delaware at 7 p.m.
