
Six Mustangs Named CSCAA Scholar All-America

RICHMOND, Va. (CSCAA/SMU) – Six members of the SMU men's swimming and diving program earned College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America honors for their work in the pool and in the classroom this season.
To be selected as a member of the CSCAA Scholar All-America first team as an individual, swimmers and divers must have achieved a grade-point-average of 3.50 or higher and have participated in their respective NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. Honorable mention selections have similarly achieved a GPA of 3.50 and achieved a "B" time standard or competed at their respective qualifying meets.
Parker Hardigree earned first team honors after he turned in a 19th-place finish to lead the Mustangs on 1 meter at the NCAA Division I Swimming & Diving Championships. Hardigree was the conference champion in this event to help lead SMU to a title.Â
Connor Dalbo was named CSCAA Scholar All-American for the second consecutive season. Dalbo competed in the 200 breast at the US Olympic swim trials this past June. Dalbo moved from fourth to third on SMU's all-time top performer list with his 1:55.00 for second place at conference this season.Â
Jack Easton was tabbed CSCAA All-American for the first time in his career. Easton was the top finisher in the 100 fly at third with a career-best 48.03 at conference.
Daniel Forndal earned his third CSCAA honorable mention selection. Forndal won two individual conference championships in the 100-meter freestyle and the 200-yard freestyle relay. Forndal was named the Most Outstanding Swimmer in the AAC.Â
Dominic Hoefer secured his second consecutive CSCAA All-American honor. Hoefer competed in the 1 Meter event final, posting a personal best finish of 17th at NCAA Zone Championships.
Brayden Rudd was also named to this list for the second time in his career. Rudd competed at the Wave I of the US Olympic swim trials in June after making the cut in the 100 and 200 breast competitions. Rudd had a top-three finish in the event with his 3:51.41 in the 400-individual medley at conference.
The men's swimming and diving team won the 2021 American Athletic Conference championship, earning the program's 42nd overall championship.
