SMU women's golf released its 2021-22 schedule Friday, a ten-tournament slate that is highlighted by the Trinity Forest Invitational, March 7-8, 2022.
 
The schedule has tournaments on both coasts and in four different time zones, giving the Mustangs a taste of golf and competition across the country. The schedule contains trips to three of Golfweek's Top 200 Modern Courses; Trinity Forest, Caledonia Golf and Fish Club in the Myrtle Beach area and Chambers Bay Golf Club, the host of the 2015 Men's U.S. Open and the 2022 U.S. Women's Amateur.
 
The Mustangs open the tenure of new head coach Lauren Mason Sept. 19-21 at the Badger Invitational in Fitchburg, Wisconsin at University Ridge Golf Course, which hosts an annual event on the PGA Tour Champions circuit. It is one of four former or current hosts of a professional tour event on the Mustangs' schedule, joining Trinity Forest, English Turn Golf Club and Chambers Bay.
 
The fall season continues with the Mustangs' first trip to the Schooner Fall Classic since 2014, hosted by Oklahoma Sept. 25-26 at Belmar Golf Club in Norman. SMU stays north of the Red River for their next event, the Dale McNamara Invitational, hosted by Tulsa, at the Golf Club of Oklahoma in Broken Arrow Oct. 11-12. The fall season concludes Oct. 15-17 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina for the Tar Heel Invitational at the UNC Finley Golf Course.
 
The Mustangs begin the spring season by returning to the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate, hosted by Tulane at English Turn Golf Club in New Orleans for the fifth consecutive season Feb. 13-15. The squad gets its first taste of desert golf Feb. 28-Mar. 1 at the GCU Invite, hosted by Grand Canyon. The GCU Golf Course in Phoenix, where the tournament takes place, is less than 30 miles away from the NCAA Championship site of Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.
 
The sixth edition of the Trinity Forest Invitational runs Mar. 7-8 at Trinity Forest Golf Club. In 2021, two Mustangs finished in the top-25 of the event with a strong field that included two teams that eventually reached match play at the NCAA Championships.
 
SMU's next stop is Pawley's Island, South Carolina, just outside of Myrtle Beach, for the Any Given Tuesday Intercollegiate at Caledonia Golf and Fish Club, Mar. 28-30. SMU returns to the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational at San Antonio Golf Club for the second straight season, where Kennedy Pedigo had her career-best finish of solo-fourth in 2021. The event hosted by UTSA runs April 5-6.
 
The final tune-up for the championship season is the Chambers Bay Invitational, hosted by Washington and Seattle at Chambers Bay Golf Club in University Place, Washington April 9-10. Chambers Bay is a four-time host of USGA championships, hosting the Men's U.S. Amateur in 2010, the Men's U.S. Open in 2015, the Men's U.S. Amateur Four-Ball in 2021 and the U.S. Women's Amateur in 2022.
 
The AAC Championship returns to the famed Pinehurst (N.C.) Resort in 2022, as the conference once again takes on the No. 6 Course April 17-19. The NCAA Regionals are at four sites—Albuquerque, New Mexico; Ann Arbor, Michigan; Stillwater, Oklahoma; Tallahassee, Florida—from May 9-11. The top six teams from each of the four regionals, plus the top three individuals on a non-advancing team, move on to the NCAA Championships May 20-25 at Grayhawk.
