STILLWATER, Oklahoma (SMU) - SMU Cross Country finished seventh at the Cowboy Jamboree on Saturday in a 15-team field that included two USTFCCCA Top 25 teams and eight teams in the regional rankings. No. 8 Colorado and No. 23 Oklahoma State took the top two spots in the event, respectively.

Kaitlyn Gearin paced the Mustangs, finishing 30^th in the 153-person 6k event, at 22:18.13. She is the third different Mustang to lead the team in three races after Steffi Jones finished second overall at the Aggie Opener on Sept. 1 and Cayla Eckenroth won the Gerald Richey Invite on Sept. 11.

Eckenroth finished second for the Mustangs in 32^nd overall at 22:28.29. Leoni Mierswa (45^th, 22:54.85), Jessie Crowley (48, 23:00.04) and Kendall Saeger (52^nd, 23L03.78) rounded out the scoring for the Mustangs, as the team finished with 195 points.

Maddie Hulcy (57^th) and Jones (62^nd) rounded out the runners for the Mustangs. There was just a difference of 0:35.49 between the top five scorers for SMU and 1:11.57 for all seven in the race.

SMU is No. 8 in the South Central Region, which had four regionally ranked teams in the field. The Mustangs finished behind regional No. 2 Texas and ahead of No. 10 UIW and No. 13 UTA.
 
The Mustangs' next race is the Arturo Barrios Invite hosted by Texas A&M in College Station on October 16.
