WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.– The SMU men's golf team returns to action at the Old Town Club Collegiate Invitational, hosted at its namesake Old Town Club September 27-28. The 54-hole tournament features two rounds on Monday and a final round Tuesday.

The 14-team field for the event consists of hosts No. 17 Wake Forest, in addition to College of Charleston, Davidson, Duke, East Carolina, Kansas State, Kentucky, Loyola (Md.), Penn State, Rutgers, Southern Miss, UNCG and Virginia Tech. Wake Forest has additionally entered its B-team into the event.

Four Mustangs return to the lineup from the season-opening event at Maridoe, plus junior
Ben Wong makes his first appearance in SMU's starting five since the fall of 2019.

Noah Goodwin, a preseason Haskins Award candidate, enters the event coming off a 2-under 70 in the final round of the Maridoe Collegiate Invitational. Goodwin birdied three of the last four holes at the Maridoe to finish tied for 37
th.

Nathan Petronzio hopes to capture his form from his 2021 American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year season at the par 70 / 6,966-yard track.

Ben Wong, who was a part of the Mustangs' match-play lineup at the 2019 NCAA Championship, makes his season debut in the lineup. Wong has a total of four career top-25 finishes at the collegiate level, plus a USGA Championship in the 2017 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball and has qualified as an amateur for events on the Korn Ferry Tour and PGA Tour China.
