SMU visits Memphis on Thursday. The Mustangs are 4-1 in the American Athletic Conference after
a 75-66 win at Tulane on Saturday. It was the Mustangs' 10th win in the last 11 games.

Kendric Davis had a game-high 24 points and hit a career-high seven threes.
Emmanuel Bandoumel had 17 points and tied his career best with four 3-pointers. The Mustangs went 15-32 from deep, which was a season high for makes and tied for second in program history.
Marcus Weathers had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds as the Mustangs outrebounded the Green Wave. SMU has the rebound advantage in all four AAC wins.
Michael Weathers was the fourth Mustang in double figures with 11 points. SMU was 16-18 on free throws.
Kendric Davis was named to the American Weekly Honor Roll after averaging 20.5 points and 4.5 assists in the wins against USF and Tulane. He hit 9-of-18 threes and 8-of-9 free throws. It was the seventh weekly home this season, including three AAC Player of the Week awards. It was the 18th AAC weekly honor of his career.
The Mustangs received five votes in this week's USA Today Coaches Poll. It is the first time in the polls this season. SMU has now been ranked or receiving votes in the AP Top 25 or USA Today Coaches Poll in eight of the last nine seasons (2013-14 to 2021-22).
SMU is leading The American in 3-pointers made (9.4, 40th NCAA) and  3-point percentage (37.6%, 31st NCAA). Three Mustangs are averaging at least 1.9 threes per game with
Kendric Davis making 2.8 (2nd AAC),
Emmanuel Bandoumel at 2.1 per outing (11th AAC) and
Zach Nutall at 1.9 (12th AAC). The Mustangs are third in scoring at 76.9 points and FG% (45.4%) and fourth in FT% (74.8%).Â
Kendric Davis is leading the AAC in scoring (21.1, 10th NCAA). He is in the top five in the league in free-throw percentage (89.0%, 1st AAC, 31st NCAA), field-goal percentage (46.7%, 3rd AAC), assists (5.0, 3rd AAC, 42nd NCAA), 3FGs made (2.8, 2nd AAC) and assist-to-turnover ratio (2.1, 3rd AAC). Davis is also in the top 10 for steals (1.5, 9th AAC).
Marcus Weathers leads SMU in rebounding (7.1, 3rd AAC) and double-doubles (4, 1st AAC). Michael Weathers is leading SMU in blocked shots (1.2, 7th AAC).
Kendric Davis was selected unanimous preseason All-American Athletic Conference First Team, named to the Naismith Trophy Watch List, the Wooden Award Preseason 50 Watch List, the Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Watch List and the Lute Olson Player of the Year Award Watch List. This season, he has been national player of the week (Jan. 3) and earned a total of seven AAC Weekly Honors (3x Player of the Week, 4x Weekl Honor Roll). Last season, he was unanimous All-AAC First Team as well as USBWA All-District and NABC All-District. Davis led the AAC in scoring (19.0) and assists (7.6, 4th NCAA) last season, and was the only player to lead his league in both.Â
The Mustangs are 10-0 at home this season, have won 12 straight home games and wins in 31 of the last 35 games at Moody Coliseum. SMU is 3-2 on the road this season.
The Mustangs were picked third in the AAC preseason coaches poll behind Houston and Memphis, respectively. SMU finished fourth in The American last season at 7-4.

HEAD COACH TIM JANKOVICH... is in his sixth season at the helm at SMU after four seasons as the associate head coach. He is in his 39th season as a collegiate coach, and his 17th as a head coach. As a head coach, he is 271-180 (.601) [114-59 at SMU (.659), including 79-17 (.823) at Moody Coliseum (started 36-0, second best in NCAA history)]. That includes a 104-64 mark at ISU where his teams recorded four top-three finishes in the Missouri Valley, reached the conference tournament final three times and earned four NIT bids. As an assistant or head coach, his teams are 628-375 (.626) with six regular season conference championships, four league tournament titles, nine NCAA Tournament appearances and nine NIT bids. This is his 12th season as the leader of a Division I program, including five as head coach at Illinois State (2007-12) and four at North Texas (1993-97). The 2017-18 Mustangs started 13-6 with three wins over ranked opponents, topping No. 2 Arizona in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament, No. 14 USC at Moody Coliseum and No. 7 Wichita State on the road. In 2016-17, SMU finished 30-5 and No. 11 in the AP poll after winning The American regular season and tournament titles en route to the NCAA Tournament. In 2015-16, he coached the Mustangs to a 9-0 start as SMU was eventually the last unbeaten team in the country at 18-0, and winning the Las Vegas Classic title during the season-opening streak. The Mustangs went 25-5, finishing the season ranked No. 24 after reaching a high of No. 8.
