Last Time Out
The Mustangs (2-0, 0-0 AAC) return to competition after a ten-day hiatus, following their season-opening doubleheader against UTSA and ACU at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex on Jan. 16. SMU claimed shutout victories in both contests, taking down UTSA and ACU 7-0 and 4-0, respectively. Lexi Keberle and Claudia Bartolome enter the weekend's competition with a 2-0 singles record after claiming both points against UTSA and ACU. Bartolome earned straight-set wins in both matches, sweeping the day's opponents on the third court.

Rice
Winners of the last three straight, the Mustangs maintain a 13-11 edge in the all-time series against the Owls. SMU's last loss to Rice came in 2008.

Texas
In a potential Saturday matchup for the Mustangs, SMU has the possibility of facing off against the No. 1 Texas Longhorns. SMU is 0-4 all-time against Texas, with their last meeting in 2016 resulting in a 6-1 loss in Austin. The Longhorns (1-0, 0-0 Big 12) enter their Thursday match against FAU following a shutout home win against Texas State.

Florida Atlantic
SMU and FAU (2-2, 0-0 CUSA) have met one time prior in 2003, which resulted in a 4-3 decision in favor of the Owls. FAU enters the weekend's competition 2-2 on the season, having notched wins over Middle Tennessee and Georgia State, 6-1 and 4-1, respectively.
