AAC Release

DALLAS (SMU/AAC) –
SMU collected the third most points in the 2022-23 American Athletic Conference preseason poll, as voted on by the 11 head coaches and announced by the league Wednesday.

Savannah Wilkinson garnered an unanimous selection to the preseason All-AAC First Team, just one of two student-athletes on every ballot.

The Mustangs play six league foes twice: Houston, Memphis, Tulsa, UCF, USF and Wichita State in home and home series. Cincinnati and ECU visit Moody Coliseum, while SMU travels to Temple and Tulane for the lone regular-season matchups.

SMU tips off conference action at Houston Friday, Dec. 30, with the first home game against UCF Tuesday, Jan. 3 and concludes with the 2023 American Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Championship at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, March 6-9.

The Mustangs open the season at home Nov. 7 against Alabama State. Highlighting the non-conference slate includes road games against Oklahoma, Baylor, California and Texas A&M.
