DALLAS, Texas (SMU) -- The Mustangs will compete in their final regular season race of the year tomorrow at Texas A&M's Arturo Barrios Invite. Head Coach A'Havahla Haynes said the team is ready to compete in the large field of more than 20 teams this weekend.Ā
"The front three to five teams are good enough to make the NCAA championship, and we will see the teams from our South Central region," Haynes said. "It will provide us a marker on how we stack up,Ā and then what adjustments we need to make before November 11th."Ā
Sophomore Kaitlyn Gearin said she is looking forward to the race.Ā
"It will be good for us to preview this year's regional course against many of the teams in our region," Gearin said. "We are fit and ready to run strong as a team, so I think it will be a great race!"Ā
The team is currently ranked sixth in the South Central region and will have a chance to climb the rankings before the AAC Championships at the end of this month.Ā
"The team is ready and prepared to compete this weekend," Haynes said.Ā
The 6k race will begin at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday.Ā
