ORLANDO, FLA. (SMU) – Back-to-back late goals lifted the Mustangs to a 2-1 victory over UCF Tuesday afternoon at the UCF Soccer and Track Complex.
Harvey Castro found the back of the net for the first time this season off a
Nikola Djordjevic assist. Djordjevic cut the ball back and Castro fired the equalizer past UCF's keeper in the middle of the goal.
Mads Westergren broke the tie within two minutes, firing a perfectly placed shot in the top left corner of the goal, earning his second score of the year.
The Knights struck in the 17
th minute when Lucca Dourado scored UCF's lone goal.
Bram Kaarsgaren was in goal for the Mustangs, earning three saves on 13 shots faced.
SMU is back in action when it hosts UAB Sunday night at 7 in Dallas.
