Fredrik Skilberg who scored on the right side of the net with a diving finish in the 40
th minute. Skilberg earned his seventh score of the season and Petraeus tallied his ninth assist of the year.
Tulsa scored on a penalty kick opportunity out of halftime to pull the match within a goal.
The Mustangs will be the No. 2 seed in the American Athletic Conference Championship. SMU opens with a quarterfinal bye and will be back in action Thursday, Nov. 10 against the winner of USF vs. Charlotte.
