SMU men's tennis will host the Ralston/ Neufeld Coaches Challenge this weekend as they close out their fall season. This will be the third annual edition of the Ralston/Neufeld Coaches Challenge named for the last two coaches of SMU Tennis; Dennis Ralston, who brought the Mustangs to four Final Fours and Carl Neufeld, who won 401 games at the helm of SMU men's tennis.

The Mustangs will welcome four other teams to Hilltop for the weekend: Baylor, Harvard, Wichita State, and Boise State.

The tournament will begin on Friday at 10 a.m. with two rounds of doubles followed by one round of singles. Saturday matches will begin at 10 a.m. with one round of doubles and two rounds of singles. Sunday will conclude the Mustangs play with one round of singles.

Representing the Mustangs at the tournament are Adam Neff, Louis Cloud, Julian Steinhausen and Jack Winkler.

Neff and Cloud will be making their doubles debuts. Steinhausen and Winkler will compete their second tournament of the season together after going 1-1 at Tulsa in the ITA All- Americans. All four players will compete in singles for the Mustangs. Cloud has a notable 6-2 singles record for the fall season, and he looks to continue his winning streak over the weekend.

Memorable victories over the years at the Ralston/Neufeld Coaches Challenge include senior, Jordi Redelijk, becoming the 2021 men's singles champion as well as Kyle Sillman and John Zisette becoming the 2021 men's doubles champions. Carles Sarrio, from SMU, was the first champion from the Ralston/Neufeld Coaches Challenge in 2018.

Scores for the weekend can be found by following the SMU Men's Twitter page: Twitter as well as checking the Tournament Page. Matches will be streamed on Playsight.

The tournament is open to the public and will be held regardless of the weather. Rain is expected on Friday and the competition will be held entirely indoors.
