IRVING, Texas (The American/SMU) – Lucrezia Napoletano and Nicole Stambo swept American Athletic Conference weekly awards after leading SMU to a 158.5-139.5 win over TCU, league officials announced Tuesday.

The duo combined for five of the Mustangs' 11 wins at the event, winning every individual event they competed in.

Napoletano picked up three victories on the evening, taking the 200-yard freestyle in 1:48.04 and the 100-yard freestyle in 49.66, and tying for the win in the 50-yard freestyle at 23.09. 

It is the first career AAC honor for the freshman who ranks in the conference top three in the 50, 100 and 200.

Stambo swept diving action, taking the top spot on 1 meter with an NCAA Zone score of 268.95 and leading the field on 3 meter with a six-round 267.90.

This is the second honor this season and sixth career for Stambo. She leads the Mustangs with NCAA Zone scores on 1 meter, 3 meter and platform.

Up next, select Mustangs will compete at CSCAA Open Water Nationals Dec. 18, and divers head to the Georgia Diving Invite Jan. 3-5. SMU returns to the pool as a team Jan. 13-14 when it hosts Tulane, UNT and Rice.
