Osborne, Scarpitti Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

GREENWOOD, Ind. (CSC/SMU) – SMU women swimmers Summer Osborne and Carlotta Scarpitti were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, as announced by the CSC on Tuesday.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom.

To be nominated, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and be at least a sophomore academically and athletically. They must also compete in 75 percent of competitions, finish top eight at a conference meet or participate in a national championship.

Osborne earned the honors by maintaining a 3.546 GPA while studying sport management. The Auckland, New Zealand, native became the Mustangs' first Atlantic Coast Conference Swimmer of the Week honoree on Oct. 7 and became the ninth-fastest Mustang to ever swim the 200 free this season with a time of 1:46.09.

Scarpitti is majoring in environmental engineering with a cumulative GPA of 3.807. The senior from Rome, Italy, is a prominent scorer for the Mustangs in the 100 fly, 200 fly and 400 IM events. This is her second CSC Academic All-District honor after receiving it last season.
