CHARLOTTE, N.C. (ACC/SMU) – Three SMU Women's Swimming and Diving student-athletes were included in the All-ACC Academic Team, as announced by the conference on Wednesday.

Summer Osborne, and
Carlotta Scarpitti received their honors for their academic and athletic achievements.
To qualify for the award, student-athletes must meet the criteria of being an undergraduate student-athlete who has been enrolled at the institution for at least one academic year, earned a cumulative GPA of 3.00, including a 3.00 GPA in the most recent two semesters / three quarters and competed in either the ACC Championship, NCAA Championship or both.
Hebert earned her first ACC academic honor with a cumulative GPA of 3.06 as a corporate communication and public affairs major. The junior was a prominent scorer in SMU's middle-distance and distance freestyle events, notably part of the Mustangs' 200 free relay team that broke the program's 14-year-old record this season.
Osborne earned her second All-ACC Academic honor by maintaining a 3.55 GPA while studying sport management. The Auckland, New Zealand, native became the Mustangs' first ACC Swimmer of the Week honoree on Oct. 7 and became the ninth-fastest Mustang to ever swim the 200 free this season with a time of 1:46.09. She is also part of the Mustangs' 200 free relay team that broke the program's 14-year-old record this season.
Scarpitti is majoring in environmental engineering with a cumulative GPA of 3.81. The senior from Rome, Italy, is a prominent scorer for the Mustangs in the 100 fly, 200 fly and 400 IM events. This is also her second All-ACC Academic honor after receiving it last season.
