DALLAS (SMU) – The upward trajectory of the SMU women's tennis team continues, as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) most recent team rankings listed the Mustangs at No. 36 among the nation's 264 division I programs, topping their previous season's highest ranking (38).

The Mustangs (5-3, 1-0 AAC), coming off a month-long road stretch which included three top-25-ranked opponents in six matches, notched a 4-3 win versus current No. 55 Mississippi State on Feb. 19 in Waco.

SMU files in as the second-highest-ranked American Conference program, behind only No. 19 Tulsa.

The Mustangs resume competition on Friday against No. 50 Wisconsin, as they open a three-opponent weekend at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex.
