Thursday's scheduled matchup in Dallas was postponed due to inclement weather. SMU is 16-4 overall and 7-1 in the American Athletic Conference after a 69-61 win over Temple Saturday. It was the Mustangs' 13th win in 14 games as SMU moved to 11-0 at home this season.
In the win versus Temple,
Marcus Weathers had a season-high 27 points while
Kendric Davis scored 11 and
Emmanuel Bandoumel added 10 points. The Mustangs used a 13-0 run with about six minutes left to seal the win.
Marcus Weathers was 11-16 shooting with nine rebounds and three blocks.
Michael Weathers added eight points and nine rebounds. SMU shot 48.0% and hit 17-23 free throws while holding Temple to 34.8% shooting.
Marcus Weathers was named the
co-American Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Monday. Weathers averaged 22.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.0 steals while shooting 73.9% (17-23) from the field, 2-of-3 on threes and 8-of-8 on free throws. He led the team in scoring in both victories, scoring 17 in the 74-54 win at USF on Wednesday and then a season-high 27 points with nine rebounds in Saturday's 69-61 triumph over Temple. This is the fourth AAC Player of the Week award for the Mustangs this season.
Kendric Davis has taken home the honor three times in 2021-22.Â
SMU is leading The American in 3-pointers made (8.9, 55th NCAA) and ranks second in the league for 3-point percentage (36.6%, 52nd NCAA). Three Mustangs are averaging at least 1.7 threes per game with

Marcus Weathers leads SMU in rebounding (7.0, 2nd AAC) and double-doubles (4, 1st AAC). Michael Weathers is ranked in the AAC in blocked shots (1.2, 7th AAC), steals (1.4, 11th AAC) and rebounds (5.4, 14th AAC).
Kendric Davis was selected unanimous preseason All-American Athletic Conference First Team, named to the Naismith Trophy Watch List, the Wooden Award Preseason 50 Watch List, the Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Watch List and the Lute Olson Player of the Year Award Watch List. This season, he has been national player of the week (Jan. 3) and earned a total of seven AAC Weekly Honors (3x Player of the Week, 4x Weekly Honor Roll). Last season, he was unanimous All-AAC First Team as well as USBWA All-District and NABC All-District. Davis led the AAC in scoring (19.0) and assists (7.6, 4th NCAA) last season, and was the only player to lead his league in both.Â

THE SERIES VS. WICHITA STATE (6-8): SMU has dropped the three contests over the past three seasons after splitting the 2017-18 season, the first season as conference foes. On Jan. 17, 2018, SMU downed then-No. 7/4 Wichita State, 83-78, in Kansas to end the Shockers' 27-game Koch Arena winning streak. WSU won the return game at Moody Coliseum 84-78 on Feb. 24, 2018. The first meeting dates back to Dec. 22, 1956, when SMU won 85-67 in Wichita, Kan. The then-No. 5 Mustangs won the following year in Dallas, 93-70. After eight years dormant, Wichita State bested SMU in the NCAA Midwest Regional, 86-81, on March 12, 1965, for its first win of the series. After a 1-1 split between 1970 and 1971, the two teams went 2-2 between 1993-1996 as the home team won each matchup.

HEAD COACH TIM JANKOVICH... is in his sixth season at the helm at SMU after four seasons as the associate head coach. He is in his 39th season as a collegiate coach, and his 17th as a head coach. As a head coach, he is 274-180 (.604) [117-59 at SMU (.665), including 80-17 (.825) at Moody Coliseum (started 36-0, second best in NCAA history)]. That includes a 104-64 mark at ISU where his teams recorded four top-three finishes in the Missouri Valley, reached the conference tournament final three times and earned four NIT bids. As an assistant or head coach, his teams are 628-375 (.626) with six regular season conference championships, four league tournament titles, nine NCAA Tournament appearances and nine NIT bids. This is his 12th season as the leader of a Division I program, including five as head coach at Illinois State (2007-12) and four at North Texas (1993-97). The 2017-18 Mustangs started 13-6 with three wins over ranked opponents, topping No. 2 Arizona in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament, No. 14 USC at Moody Coliseum and No. 7 Wichita State on the road. In 2016-17, SMU finished 30-5 and No. 11 in the AP poll after winning The American regular season and tournament titles en route to the NCAA Tournament. In 2015-16, he coached the Mustangs to a 9-0 start as SMU was eventually the last unbeaten team in the country at 18-0, and winning the Las Vegas Classic title during the season-opening streak. The Mustangs went 25-5, finishing the season ranked No. 24 after reaching a high of No. 8. In 2014-15, the Mustangs claimed the AAC regular season and tournament championships en route to the NCAA Tournament. SMU was the top seed in the 2014 NIT, reaching the title game.Â

TROPHY CASE: Since the start of the 2013-14 season, the Mustangs have added seven items to the trophy case. SMU won the 2014-15 and 2016-17 American Athletic Conference regular season and tournament titles. SMU has also won 2019-20 Southwestern Showdown and the 2015-16 Las Vegas Classic. In 2013-14, SMU was the runner-up in the NIT.
