DALLAS (SMU) – SMU Athletics is excited to announce the Hilltop will host a Josh Abbott Band concert on Sept. 10 before the Mustangs host Lamar in their home opener.
 
The pregame concert will take place on Doak Walker Plaza, on the northeast side of Ford Stadium, beginning at 4:30 p.m. CT before SMU kicks off against Lamar at 6 p.m.
 
Fans will be admitted with a previously purchased SMU-Lamar game ticket, or can purchase a concert ticket here. This $25 ticket will also get fans into the game.

Six big games come to Ford Stadium this fall, highlighted by the Battle for the Iron Skillet against TCU on Sept. 24 and a match-up with 2021 CFP participant and AAC Champion Cincinnati on Oct. 22 for Homecoming. The Mustangs will also host AAC Championship game participant and in-state rival Houston on Nov. 5, as well as Navy in a Friday night contest on Oct. 14, before Memphis visits to close the regular season for Senior Day on Nov. 26.

The Mustangs will also host Fan Day this Saturday, Aug. 6. Come out and watch the 2022 Mustangs practice and meet the team. The event begins at 8:30 a.m., with gates on the west side opening at 8 a.m. Admission and parking in SMU garages are free. Fans can pick up schedule posters and head to the field post practice to join Mustang student-athletes and coaches for autographs and photos. Concessions will also be available.
