Cisneros Scores Late To Keep The Mustangs Unbeaten

SAN FRANCISCO (SMU) – Julissa Cisneros scored in the 88th minute as No. 16 SMU rallied for a 1-1 tie against San Francisco at Negoesco Stadium on Sunday.

Cisneros found the net bin the 88th minute off a feed from Abby Dermott. It was the team-leading fifth goal of the season for Cisneros.

Kaya Pigoni scored for USF (3-1-3) in the 67th minute when she found the top right of the goal.

Samantha Estrada and Tatum Sutherland combined for six saves as the Mustangs (4-0-3) surrendered just the fourth goal of the season through seven matches.

The Mustangs extended the best unbeaten start for the program since 1995.

SMU opens American Athletic Conference play on Thursday, hosting ECU at Washburne Stadium at 7 p.m.
