SAN ANTONIO, Texas (SMU)- Four Mustangs:
Louis Cloud,
Jack Winkler,
Eli Susser and
Alex Stafford competed in the 2
nd annual Roadrunner Invitational hosted by UTSA. Each player competed in both singles and doubles.
Cloud and Winkler competed in the doubled flight B finishing 2-1. Susser and Stafford competed in the doubles flight D finishing 1-2.
Winkler competed in singles flight A falling to Baylor's Grassi Mazzuchi in a third set. Cloud competed in singles flight A finishing 2-1, winning the first and third round while losing in the second. Stafford competed in singles flight E finishing 1-2, falling in the last two rounds in third sets. Susser competed in singles flight H finishing 0-2.
"Good weekend of competing against a great field to get some of our players ready for All- Americans," said head coach
Grant Chen. "Great to see Jack play his first match as a Mustang to see our sophomore trio compete. They have all really developed and grown since freshman year and had productive summers. October will be a very busy month with tournaments almost every weekend."
The Mustangs are in action again next week as they travel to Tulsa for the ITA All-American Championships Oct. 1.
