TOLEDO, Ohio (SMU) – Junior Nathan Petronzio led the Mustangs at the Inverness Intercollegiate, tying for 15th. As a team, SMU finished 10th.

Petronzio opened the tournament with a solid 1-under, which included six of his 10 birdies for the tournament. He posted back-to-back 3-over rounds to close out the event and finish 5-over 218.

Freshman Zachary Kingsland was +7 over 54 holes, finishing tied for 28th.

Also representing the Mustangs were Justin Thompson (T38, +9), Holden Wisener (T61, +15) and Christian Clark (77, +19).

SMU put together its best round of the tournament to open the event on Monday, finishing the first 18 at +5. They finished +33 at the weather-stricken event.

The Mustangs are back in action Sunday when they host the three-day Trinity Forest Invitational at the Trinity Forest Golf Club.
