DALLAS- SMU men's tennis swept Denver 7-0 at the Styslinger/ Alec Tennis Complex on Saturday. The Mustangs improve to 3-0 on the season and have won eight straight home matches.

The Mustangs got off to a quick start going 2-0 in doubles as Adam Neff and Pranav Kumar took No. 1 sweeping past Daniel Sancho and Nicolas Cuesta, 6-1. Liam Krall and Antonio Muniz-Hidalgo in No. 3 captured the second point for the Mustangs Connor Olsen and Charlie Miller 6-4.

Pranav Kumar, in the No. 1 spot, had an electric comeback victory to clinch the sweep for the Mustangs. Nicolas Cuesta acted first, winning the first set 6-1. Kumar fought back in the second set winning 7-6 and dominated in the deciding third set tiebreak winning 10-4.

Playing No. 2, Adam Neff had a straight set victory over Daniel Sancho 7-5, 6-3. Antonio Muniz-Hidalgo, playing No. 3, continues to 3-0 at home with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Peter Sancho.

Liam Krall, playing No. 4, blew past Anish Sriniketh winning 6-1, 6-2. Julian Steinhausen took the No. 5 spot 6-2, 6-4 for his first match of the season. Sophomore Louis Cloud took the No. 6 spot 6-1, 6-3.

"What a match. Great early test in the season over a team who won their conference. Denver is good and they will have a lot of success this season," said head coach Grant Chen. "Our boys showed a lot of experience and earned today's win. Look forward to Iron Skillet match on Monday against TCU."

The Mustangs are back in action January 16^th in Fort Worth against the No. 1 ranked team in the Big 12, TCU Horned Frogs.
