DALLAS (SMU) – The SMU women's swimming and diving team took two of three wins in a two-day, triple dual at the Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center and Barr-McMillion Natatorium that featured American Athletic Conference Competition.
The Mustangs defeated UNT and Tulane, and fell to Rice to move to 5-2 on the season in dual meets. The five wins match the 2021-22 season total.

Nicole Stambo completed the weekend sweep of diving events with another victory in dominating fashion. The senior led the platform field by 50+ points with an NCAA Zone score and season-best 250.50.
In day two of competition as a Mustang, transfer
Luana Alonso won her second race in as many tries. The sophomore won the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 2:02.31.
The Mustangs earned their final individual win of the event from
Jenna Watson who led the 200-yard individual medley at 2:04.34.
In the day's breaststroke race, Watson led the Mustangs with a runner-up finish at 2:19.54.
Julia Yakushi covered the distance in 2:20.36 for third. SMU also picked up a third-place finish from
Lucrezia Napoletano in the 100 free at 51.71.
The event closed with Napoletano,
Indra Vandenbussche,
Tiffanie Ruan and
Johanna Gudmundsdottir winning the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:33.87.
Jimena Leguizamon Leal, Watson,
Valentina Becerra and Gudmundsdottir opened the day with a runner-up finish in the 200-yard medley relay, clocking in at 1:44.49.
