DALLAS, Texas (SMU) -- SMU will compete in their final regular season meet of the year on Friday before competing for a conference title at the end of the month. Head Coach A'Havahla Haynes said the Arturo Barrios Invite in College Station is the largest and most competitive field the Mustangs have faced this season. 

"While we have attended this meet for the past few seasons, it is the largest field and depth the Invite has seen," Haynes said. "The focus is to be a top-5 team like the 2022 season against tough competition." 

After the Mustangs' second-place finish at the stacked Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville on September 29th, the team shot up to a second-place ranking in the South Central Region for week three – four positions higher than the previous week. Third-ranked LSU and fifth-ranked Tulane will also be competing in College Station this weekend. 

The 6k race will begin at 9:15 a.m. on Friday.
