Sina Uluave were named the American Athletic Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Preseason AAC Player of the Year selection Wheeler put together a dominating weekend. The junior outside hitter led the Mustangs in kills with 15 in SMU's sweep of Charlotte on Friday. Wheeler turned in her second-highest hitting percentage of the season (.394) and added five digs, a block, and an assist. On Sunday, she tallied a season-high 21 kills along with eight digs, and a block. Wheeler finished with double-digit kills for the 10th time this season.
Uluave led the Mustang defense in both victories this weekend. She tallied 15 digs while adding five assists in SMU's sweep of Charlotte. The Mustangs held the 49ers to a .047 hitting percentage, marking the third time an opponent has finished under .100 this season. On Sunday, Uluave led the Mustangs in digs for the ninth consecutive match after tallying 21 and dishing out a pair of assists.
