Night Three Results
DALLAS (SMU)- SMU men's swimming and diving team continued its strong start in the American Athletic Conference Championships Wednesday at the Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center and Barr-McMillion Natatorium.
Peter Smithson was crowned the Most Outstanding Diver and
Darian Schmidt was named the Diving Coach of the Year. Both Mustang relays claimed first led by a new school record in the 800 freestyle relay.
Smithson defended his three consecutive Platform titles with a score of 368.50, marking his fourth conference championship in the event. The senior was crowned the champion on 1 and 3 meter earlier in the week.
Smithson was named the AAC Most Outstanding Diver for the fourth consecutive season. Smithson is the first Mustang to claim the accolade four straight seasons and continued the streak of a Mustang winning the award each season in the conference dating back to 2014.
Darian Schmidt was named the Diving Coach of the Year. In each of his six seasons at SMU, Schmidt has earned the award.

Jack Forrest and
Sage Sungail finished the night setting a new school record in the 800 freestyle relay after clocking in at 6:21.56.
SMU's 200 medley relay team consisting of
Cole Bruns,
Lance Butler,
Riley Hill and
Justin Baker started off the swimming portion of the championships with a first place finish after touching the wall at 1:25.44 led by Feehery breaking the leadoff record.
Tyler Coffey finished third on Platform with a score of 296.80 and
Dominic Hoefer claimed fourth after scoring a 272.40.
