Final Results
AUSTIN, TEXAS (SMU)– The SMU men's swimming and diving team fell to No. 5 Texas 181-83
Friday afternoon at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.
Colin Feehery moved to fourth on SMU's all-time fastest performer list in the 100 breaststroke after swimming a career-best time of 53.07.
Angus Corbeau finished third in the same event with a time of 54.74.
Feehery covered the distance in the 200 IM in 1:45.34 to earn an NCAA B Cut.
SMU's 200 medley relay consisting of
Cole Bruns,
Lance Butler,
Riley Hill and
Justin Baker clocked in at 1:26.81 to earn a runner-up finish.
Cotton Fields earned an NCAA B Standard in the 200 butterfly after finishing second place with a time of 1:44.79.
Sage Sungail swam a 1:36.42 in the 200 freestyle to earn a runner-up finish.
Russell Exum landed in second place in the 100 butterfly with a time of 48.39.
Bruns and
Jack Easton earned a 2-3 finish in the 100 backstroke. Bruns clocked in at 48.10 and Easton touched the wall at 48.69. Easton claimed another top-three finish in the 200 backstroke after swimming a 1:46.68 and Bruns' 44.08 landed him in third in the 100 freestyle.
Butler and Baker tied for third place in the 50 free after each swimming a time of 20.11.
Bruns, Butler, Feehery and
Charlie Kaye finished the evening with the 400 freestyle relay, covering the distance in 2:55.23 to earn second place.
On the diving side,
Peter Smithson and
Dominic Hoefer both earned a pair of NCAA Zone Standards. Smithson scored a 359.78 on 3 meter and a 308.03 on 1 meter. Hoefer scored a 338.18 on 3 meter and 312.15 on 1 meter.
The Mustangs host a Pre-Conference Invite Saturday at 10 a.m. before prepping for the American Athletic Conference Championships Feb. 13-18 at The Nat.
