LAFAYETTE, La. (SMU) – SMU men's golf finished in 11
th at the Louisiana Classics hosted by Louisiana from Oakbourne Country Club.
The Mustangs came into the final day in a tie for 12
th place. Early on, they moved up the leaderboard into ninth place. SMU would settle in 11
th place by the end of competition.
Will Sides shot an even-par round three to move 17 spots up the leaderboard. The freshman would conclude play in a share of 21
st, his third top 25 finish in four starts this season.
Holden Wisener moved up six spots on the final day. Wisener finished in a tie for 43
rd after a final round 76.
J. Holland Humphries and
Dawson Ovard both finished in 52
nd after they shot 78s on Tuesday.
Zachary Kingsland moved up 11 spots into 59
th after his final-day 74.
Competing as individuals,
Christian Clark and
Alex Valenzuela both finished in a tie for 75
th.
SMU returns to the course for The Goodwin in Palo Alto, California. The tournament runs March 30 – April 1 from Stanford Golf Course.
