MINNEAPOLIS (SMU) – Colin Feehery and Peter Smithson represented the Mustangs on Thursday at the 2023 NCAA Division 1 Swimming and Diving Championships.

Feehery is making his second-career appearance at the event, and Smithson is competing for the fourth time. 

Feehery covered the distance in the 200 IM in 1:43.67 to place 33^rd out of 57 swimmers in the opening heats. Last season, Feehery posted a then-school-record time of 1:44.01 to place 35th in the same event.

Smithson represented the Mustangs on 1-meter , scoring a 295.10 and finishing 43^rd out of 50 divers. The senior was the American Athletic Conference Champion on 1-meter and finished top-12 at the 2023 Zone D Diving Championships.

Action resumes Friday with Feehery taking on the field in the 400 IM and Smithson competing on 3-meter. Swimming prelims begin at 10 a.m., with diving to follow at 12 p.m. Action will stream live on ESPN+.
