Colin Feehery andÂ
Peter Smithson finished the second day of competition on Friday at the 2023 NCAA Division I Swimming and Diving Championships.
Feehery placed 32
nd in the 400 IM with a time of 3:47.24. This was the second consecutive year the senior was invited to the NCAA Championships in the event. Last season, Feehery placed 34
th with a time of 3:48.34. He's SMU's all-time fastest performer in the event (3:41.89).
Smithson competed on 3-meter, scoring a 316.20 and finishing in 38th place. The senior qualified for the NCAA Championships on 3-meter after placing ninth at the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships with a combined prelim and final score of 722.05. Smithson finished 34
th out of 47 divers at the 2022 NCAA Championships after scoring a 322.10 in the event.
Action resumes Saturday with Feehery taking on the field in the 200 breaststroke and Smithson competing on Platform. Swimming prelims begin at 10 a.m., with diving to follow at 12 p.m. Action will stream live on ESPN+.
