Peter Smithson earned a top-10 finish on Platform diving on the final day of the Zone D Diving Championships Thursday afternoon.Â
Smithson finished 10th place in the competition with a combined score of 606.25. The senior will compete at the NCAA Championships in all three diving events after qualifying with a ninth place finish in Wednesday's 3-meter competition (722.05). Smithson started the week with a top-12 finish on 1-meter with a combined prelim and final score of 643.60
Smithson will be the first Mustang diver to qualify for the NCAA Championships all four years since Bryce Dumais (2000-2003).
Smithson won titles in all three diving events at the 2023 AAC Conference Championships and was named Most Outstanding Diver for the fourth consecutive season.
Dominic Hoefer checked in 12th in the 1-meter competition with a score of 633.60, andÂ
Tyler Coffey placed 21st after scoring a 269.95 on Tuesday.
 Hoefer (301.10) and Coffey (283.15) finished 21st and 22nd on 3-meter Wednesday.
