SMU will compete at the Texas Invitational this Friday and Saturday for a final opportunity to climb the conference rankings and get prepared before the American Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Head Coach A'Havahla Haynes said this meet will serve as a "tune up" heading into conference.Â
"Some will compete in their primary event focusing on details from early season," Haynes said. "Others will compete in events that prime them for competition two weeks from now."Â
Currently, the Mustangs have 21 Top-10 marks within the conference. Â
The two-day meet will begin Friday night at 6 p.m. with the long jump.Â
"The women are putting on the finishing touches so the team can excel at AACs," Haynes said.Â
