SARASOTA, Fla. (SMU) – No. 15 SMU rowing won four of five races on the final day of the Big 10 Invitational from Nathan Benderson Park on Saturday.
The Mustangs began the day with a victory of over four seconds in the second varsity eight race, beating the likes of Rutgers, Indiana and Duke.
SMU then captured a win in the first varsity eight race with a 1.137 margin of victory over Duke.
In the second varsity four, the Mustangs won by three seconds over Duke with a time of 7:12.60. During the first varsity four, the Mustangs placed second less than two seconds behind Duke.
In SMU's final race of the weekend, the Mustangs registered an impressive five second win over Iowa in the third varsity four.
The Mustang totaled six race victories across the two-day Big 10 Invitational. SMU finished in the top two in 13 of 15 races.
SMU returns to action against Stanford at the Pac 12 Dual April 29-30.
